How can we help?

Why does the proxy not work in my fingerprint browser even though I already configured a chained proxy?

SANETER Help Center

This usually does not mean that the SANETER proxy itself is incompatible with fingerprint browsers.

In many cases, the issue is that the fingerprint browser’s traffic is not actually following the relay or chained-proxy route you configured. Instead, the browser may attempt to connect to the SANETER proxy directly through your local network.

For users in mainland China, this can result in the connection being blocked, interrupted, or failing before it reaches the proxy correctly.

A simplified example is:

Expected route:

Your device → Relay / transit server → SANETER proxy → Destination

Possible actual route:

Fingerprint browser → Local network → SANETER proxy

If the fingerprint browser bypasses your relay path, the proxy may appear unusable even though the proxy itself is working normally.

Simply enabling Global Mode in a proxy application does not always guarantee that all traffic generated by a fingerprint browser will follow that route. Some applications use their own network processes or connection methods and may not fully follow a standard system proxy configuration.

One possible solution is to use a properly configured TUN / virtual network adapter mode, which can route traffic at a lower network level. However, TUN mode must actually be running and routing traffic correctly. In some proxy applications, TUN mode may fail to initialize because of permissions, drivers, routing conflicts, or system configuration, even though the interface appears to be enabled.

For users in mainland China who want a simpler and more stable setup, we generally recommend using a server with a high-quality China-optimized route as your relay or transit server, and configuring the SANETER proxy directly as the exit IP within that server or proxy panel.

This approach is usually more reliable than depending on multiple layers of local proxy software and fingerprint-browser routing.

Please note that SANETER provides the proxy service itself. Configuration of fingerprint browsers, TUN adapters, relay servers, and third-party proxy software remains the customer’s responsibility.
